An entrance is a first impression
An entrance is crossed in seconds, so it cannot carry many details. The decision here was to reduce the elements to three — console, mirror, lighting — and give each of them enough weight.
Fewer pieces means more responsibility on each. The console was not chosen as a surface to put things on, but as a piece seen from a distance before it is ever used.
A curved base against a geometric ground
The textured backdrop with its geometric lines gives the wall order and rhythm. In front of it, the curved base of the console breaks that order and creates the contrast that makes the piece stand out.
This meeting of the geometric and the organic drives the whole composition, and repeats in the tall vases and dried stems whose free lines sit over a disciplined background.
